Nice. Dime was a great man.

I personally am listening to Sick Puppies' Tri-Polar. Thank god I didn't buy it, because it is good, but not THAT good.

I DID buy Deftones latest album Diamond Eyes, though. Solid record, there.

The verses for that sick puppies song they are floggin down here on the radio at the moment is a dead ringer for a southern sons song of years ago. Check it out.

fuk, can't find it anywhere...... do a mp3 search for sometimes, southern sons, and listen to it, same verse as Maybe by SP.

I typed that in at Youtube...You Were There by Southern Sons came up...

But I wonder if some controversy will come from that...there was some accusations recently that some newer band (Theory of a Deadman, I think) ripped off the melody from Fire Woman by The Cult. Sometimes you can't help it if a song is similar to another.

I love The Cult, but TOAD sucks major balls.

Yeah right band, but wrong song. The opening verses are just exactly the same, I can't listen to it without singing the Sons song instead. Haha

So.....cleaning house this morning.......have the CD changer playing selections......anyway.....one song comes on...I've always liked this tune and the lyrics are great....it starts off:

We are not helpless, we are men
What lies between us
It can be set aside and ended.......

Ev'ryday we learn more how to hate
Shut the door
And then we tell ourselves we can't relate
Only to the ones who are the same
Yet even they are diff'rent
And ever so they shall remain.........

All are strangers, all are friends
All are brothers

Who dat, Gray?

One VERY talented musician! Who was part of a well know group in the late 60s early 70s. Other "names" that appear and play on this album include: Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, John Sebastian, Rita Coolidge, G.N., Booker T. Jones, D.C., Cass Elliot.....and one of my fav female "studio" backup singers.....Liza Strike. All in all.....a GREAT album and should be in everyone's collection.

Any quesses?

Probably - I didn't see a concert until '75 - and that was 3 Dog Night in Anchorage.

But I know who Stephen Stills is!

In case you didn't know Jimi Hendrix plays guitar on the track "Old times Good times" on that very album! ;)

Edited by Sharp, 15 April 2011 - 05:02 PM.

"There's only two types of guitarists around today. There are those who admit being influenced by Jimi Hendrix, and those who try to pretend they aren't. We will never again see anyone like him, and I was blessed and privileged to know him and have played with him for the time that I did."
