Hi guys, I have had one of these bikes for over 6 months now from new and wondered if any anyone else in here was riding one?

I do quite a lot of mileage (about 100 miles) to work and back 4/5 days a week and a couple of weekends ago did 450 miles in 2 days on an organised bikers rally meet, the problem is the vibration is killing my hands and feet even though I have added "Helibars" and grip puppies but still have the original rearsets.

I have had several sports bikes in the past (CBR 600- FZR1000 - ZXR750's) and never had any problem with any of them, obviously I don't hang on the bars too tight and ride as loose as ever but it doesn't make a jot of difference.

Just wondered if anyone else has had similar experience with one of these or any tips that I may have missed among the forums I've checked, thanks

BTW, the bike is awesome and I'd hate to get rid of it but if I can't get this problem sorted I may have to drop down to something like a K13000S just because of the mileage I need to do in all weathers.

You need some weighted bar ends. Rizoma makes them as well as Evotech and a bunch more mfr's.

They also make those bar snakes for cruisers...i wonder if you could stuff a couple chunks of that in the clip-ons?

F'kin awesome power they make too. Had one on teh dyno the other day, stock with an Akra system on it and the BMW Factory ECU... made 195h.p at the wheel. LOL With the stock ecu it was still 189 or something stupid.

Let's see what the 1199 makes. Ducati are quite boastful already. Better make 185 or more.

I think the 1199 will definitely need the "non stock" ECU to be up there with the BMW.It's possible with the right tuner, right Birdy? My 999S didn't feel right until I changed out the stock ECU for the put in the "corsa unit" and had an actual factory race mechanic (Neil Foreman)dyno tune the bike.

The key there was that it was tuned on the dyno, just swapping out the ecu will do fuk all for the most part. And no, I highly doubt the Duc will come close to that sorta power. But it depends on the dyno they use too. They all read differently, but considering most litre sports bikes with a good system on them make between 160-175 on my dyno, the 190+ is pretty impressive. LOL

That's really impressive!I sometimes just shake my head and I laugh at the young guys who have to ride a litre bike for bragging rights! After the tune which took at least 4 hours to complete, I was able to just roll on the throttle and the bike would wheelie the front and I am a heavy rider. It's amazing at what can be done to these bikes with a good tuner and patience. ;)

The power the s1000 makes is unbelievable.. I've just got a slip on and PC3 on my Zx12 but ive had it tuned and was fairly happy to get a usable 170hp out of it.. Then a guy at work turns up with the BMW sport and it blows my 12 away by 23hp!! It's a monumental step they've made, probably the biggest performance leap since the original R1 came out. Which has been pretty obvious watching world super stock for the past couple of years.

Bird, have you dynoed any zx10s recently, I've read a lot of conflicting stuff about their HP. Some say it's close to the BM some say nowhere near. The Panigale won't need to beat the BMs peak HP cos it'll apparently be a lot lighter as well and will make monstrous torque. Thats going to be an incredible bike. Hope they stick that engine in the street fighter as well lol.

The new zedex makes comparable power to the BMW but the ECU is neutered, at least it is here. Has to be flashed to remove the OEM restrictions. I hear it handles better than the BMW too.

Those are Italian horses, which are often smaller than private dyno horses

(Japanese horses are also often smaller)

We won't know until the owners start putting them on the dyno, which won't be until April.

You can't even trust the magazines numbers because they often get ringers.
