Guess I'll kick it off...

Moto2 FP1 right now in pouring rain.

And they have tail lights! First time I ever saw that... new for this year?

MotoGP FP1 was apparently washed out... only 8 riders took to the track and of them only a few pushed for some times. Red flag atm in Moto2, minor crash but the bike was in the middle of the track.

Hope the weather improves... but after watching the Assen WSBK round... maybe it will be better if it continues to pour! lol

Knowing GP though, they'll probably cancel it. ;)

Well... the forecast is looking mighty gloomy...

http://www.weatheron...Spain/Jerez.htm

Rain and thunderstorms through to Monday.

Again, some of the best racing I've seen in years was in horrible conditions at Assen last weekend. Time for the CRT boys to get wild!

Silva will be framing that time sheet!

And yes Max, taillights are new this season.

Lorenzo was not happy after FP2!

He's upset about tire wear, but who knows if the race will bring similar conditions?

Most of the teams seemed to stay out on the one set of wets to get a "feeling" of how they may have to perform in the race. Trying to save them for tomorrow, although I think they get an extra set since it is wet bringing it to five sets total.

They get an extra set if all 4 practice and qualifying sessions are wet. Lorenzo said his went after about 10 laps.

Yes, another new rule. It's so the riders can see each other in poor visibility. It was talked about in the offseason and they tested them in one of the winter tests.

It's a good idea but... I wonder if some of them aren't a bit too bright? A few even glared over the wet camera lenses as they went by, I'd bet it would be worse on a wet face shield. Seems like it should be a "control unit" given out, or purchased by the teams just to keep them uniform.

At first sight, I thought they were brake lamps! lol That would be horrible... used to scare the piss out of me instructing track days when some dude I was coming up on would suddenly light up his brake lamp (probably riding the rear brake) right in the middle of a straight section.

Wonder if CE banged himself up? I noticed a grimace when he was standing behind the barriers.

I would say that grimace was when he saw his time on the video screen as well. Must be hurting.

His time barely meets the 107% rule. A grimace is fitting. The bike doesn't look to be working well at all.

Crutchlow very impressive, same for Hayden. Rossi not so much.

He did crash big during the session so that does explain some of the time deficiency. The bike also doesnt seem to work well around that track given some of the pre-season testing times.

Bummed for Colin...

As for the rest of QP, sucks having to put in fast laps on an iffy track with black clouds overhead. Cal was indeed impressive. Spies needs to sort his head out if he wants to keep that ride (though he did finally put it on the second row). Rossi... well. If he wasn't regretting his decision to go to Ducati before, he sure as hell should be by now.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of shit by the clean end.
