So Lads, Lassies,

It's THAT time again! Casa Tornadiac has been THE gathering place for Tornadiacs and others to meet, eat, drink and hang out (not necessarily in that order ;)) during the Laguna Seca MotoGP round since 2005. With the possible exception 2005 when we had a TON of folks come to the 1st Annual Casa BBQ (not to mention the first and original webmaster JP residing at the Casa).........last year's Casa was the best ever. Fuck me......I'm just thinking how fucking crazy it would have been if Tobes was able to make it last year!! In the words of Boris......"EPIC"!!

So Graystroke needs to fill up the Casa! Most of you here know the score...but for those who don't know what Casa Tornadiac is about......here's the deal:

Casa Tornadiac is a 4 Bedroom, 2 Bath home in Carmel that "officially" sleeps 8. It is available to Tornadiacs and their friends to reside in during the Laguna round of MotoGP. It is officially open from the Wednesday before the race through the Wednesday after the race........a FULL WEEK. Cost per person is $500......whether you're there for the whole week, or 3/4 days.....cost to you is the same. If you're spending the weekend at the races, it's tough to beat the Casa, Talk to anyone who has resided there. Graystroke's recommendation is to be at the racetrack on Thursday.....the BEST day to connect with riders, etc. as the track is not officially "open" for the race weekend! There are no spectators (almost), no tickets required to access the track/paddock!

So.....if you're coming to the Casa........I ask that you post up here......AND if I don't already have your personal contact informaiton PM me through the website too so we can connect offline. Any questions you can post up here or PM me. See you there!

Who's "IN" (more like - Who'S OUT!)

Graystroke - confirmed
Booth aka Jose - confirmed
Tobes - confirmed
Vern - tentative
Lou Dude - ?

I called Vern last night and was egging him on. He got tired of my beer filled conversation regarding MotoGP however :D

Hopefully he will make it.

Sorry about that I was just tired period. I may attend, I'll leave it at that for now. My first priority is my child.

Spoke with Casey last weekend, he's officially out. Has a big project due that month.

I still have it on my schedule, but can't commit yet.

I'm out I'm afraid. A lot of things have changed for me in a short time of late. I have to concentrate on these changes. No can do I'm afraid.

With India, Texas and Argentina (plus possibly Sentul) coming next season, I'll try and fit in Laguna as part of a 2013 fly-away thing.

Also, my cards are close to my chest as present with MotoGP. It's just not sensible to go to Laguna for one race with no support series at the cost of that particular trip whilst MotoGP looks like a poor man's attempt at follow my leader. If it runs back to back next year with, say Argentina or Texas, then sure, it starts to look better value.

Be nice to see MotoGP get it's head out of its arse with the rules, as WSBK, Moto2 and Moto 3 are making it look as pathetic as it has been race entertainment wise for 5 years now. I'm all for being an elite series and having technological greatness and the best riders, but if you have no race to speak of, what's the point. I can go testing if I want to stare in wonder at MotoGP engineering excellence. A race series is no good without a race.

Plus, Lorenzo's recent comments about people staying out of his way and nobody should pass series front runners until at least half distance, and with Stoner and Lorenzo playing best buddies, the thing is skewed. Where's the needle, where's the intense rivalry, where is the proving your ability instead of wanting competitors to hand it to you? Bullshit I'm afraid.

Enjoy it those that are going, though.

I'm out, too. I only do Sachsenring this year. Save money for Texas which is hopefully coming in 2013.

Gray, do you already have a shirt designed for this year? If you allow I'd like to copy it for Sachsenring...

Superb Lou :)

Well we are two months out Gray. Not looking good at all.

To those who haven't been half the fun is getting to hang out with Lou and crew, have drinks, BBQ, and have a good time, in a million dollar house a 5 minute walk from a secluded beach in one of the best spots in North America. Laguna also offers what not many tracks in th world have to offer, paddock passes. You get to go right behind the garages and see all the characters of the paddock and meet any rider, crew chief, team member, that you want to meet. Then there are the California girls all over the track. It's not a race weekend, it's a vacation weekend. Pebble Beach is extremely close, the 17 mile drive, downtown Monterey, Montery Bay, the acquarium, superb seafood everyday fresh. It's more like a vacation area that you just happen to get a MotoGP race at one of the worlds most interesting tracks. The corkscrew with a lawn chair is worth the trip alone.

Hope we fill her up Gray, I really don't want to have to stay at the hotel/motel, won't be the same. I love the house because Safeway is at the bottom of the hill. Everybody chips in for food and beer and it becomes an inexpensive vacation. I only paid for food outside of the house once last year. The hotel will be double the cost for lodging and way more $ for food. + no private driveway, patio, grill, kitchen, washing machine and dryer.

To quote Valentino "pussies!" ;)

Hey Mario,

Sorry Mate.......I don't have a shirt design for this year. I've been hella busy.......and given the meager level of interest in Casa Tornadiac etc.......just isn't worth the bother. If you want I can send you the graphic from last year. You can modify it if you like and put it on anything you want. I've got something I might do for myself that I've wanted to do for a while. Perhaps if I get it done and it works okay.....I'll share it with ya.

Looks like I will be at Monterey... but since I'll have my own place to live, I won't need Casa floorspace this year. I'd offer to put people up, but not sure where I'm going to be living yet, how much room I'll have, etc.... and I've already got three people telling me they're going to crash my place for the race, one of which is my girlfriend, so...

Yo Mike,

Booth has an alternate spot lined up.......looks like I'll be staying with him. Casa not happening doesn't look like.

Damn, that sucks. First time since '05 that there's no Casa.

I never stayed there, but I think I always stopped by at least once while there. Enjoyed the BBQ and meeting everyone. I'd say post it on Speeds forums as well, but I think that place is dead ever since they changed the software around.

There are about 5 posters at SPEED. You'd do better at powerslide or motomatters.

Matt.......you're ALMOST correct! 2010 was the first year the Casa blew up! Economy was super crap and just about everyone that committed early on bailed at the last minute. Graystroke took it in the shorts for the deposit because of the last minute cancellation. It's too late to try and put it together scrounging up folks from who knows where.........especially if I don't know them or they're at least referred by someone I know.
