Hey Lads,

So.....time for a Laguna thread. Thought it might be good to have a thread for non-race related chat? Opinions on this are welcome, but I thought it might be hellpful to separate discussion. No Casa Tornadiac this year. After last year's epic gathering and talk of having 2 Casas this year (one for the guys and one for the girlfriends/spouses) it's fucking disappointing. But fuck it.......at least I'm going to be there!!

I'll do what I can to bring you the scoop and pics. I don't have a digital SLR like Vern, Matt or Mr. Wheeler, so you won't be getting those kinds of photos. Besides.......I don't like to spend time constantly looking through a view finder. I do what to try and connect with the other Tornadiacs from the forum who will be there. Also, if any of you have a request.....have at it.

Here's the Tornadiacs I know are going to attend. Please add your name if you're going to be there!

I'll be in Pacific Grove on Sunday, but not at the race as my Sister-in-law & Brother-in-law (the betallion commander of the Army's 7th SOG) will be in town with my niece but only for Sunday. He's headed to "keep your damn head down"-a-stan in late Sept, so they are doing a cruise before he moves his unit out.

I may be able to meet up for drinks Sunday evening after the race.

Me and my Bro are not going to make it this year.
The crew up at turn 6 will still be there.
Camp site 123.

A couple of them won't be there as well, there will be some new additions I've heard.

What happen? Decide that after last year it just wouldn't get any better and decided to bail? ;)

Hey Stretch! Thanks for chiming in. We should try to hook up. Regarding your ride to the track, if you've never done it, you should ride Hwy 1 from Cambria to Monterey......fantastic ride/views.

I really wish Moto2 and 3 were here......but it will never happen unfortunately. WSBK on the other hand.....it's been there, they CAN come back and there has been talk. I don't think they would do both GP and WSBK at Laguna though........would be fantastic, but chances are slim for myriad reasons.

Good day today. Got to the track about 1:30pm......weather was nice, sunny not too hot, some breeze. Made my way to the paddock. Now.....Thursday has always been one of the best days at the track......cause there's no one there. Easier to meet and chat with people, get autographs, etc. Well.....there was extra security this Thursday. Normally, with the GA 3 day ticket and paddock pass you could go to the garages and hang out. This year......they h
ad an extra security "position" just past the area where the AMA riders enter/exit the track. You couldn't get past unless you had a hard card. Well......fuck. I was warned about this by one of the "taxi" drivers that ferries folks from the parking area into the pits and back. He said that they (SCRAMP/DORNA) did it because Casey Stoner had complained last year how difficult it was to get around, or back and forth from the garages to the motorhomes. Hahaha.......don't know if he was pulling my leg, but I found that funny.

First sign that I was in Tornadiac territory:

Thanks Greg, Hey by chance is Valentino's bus parked next to Colin as he has done the last few years? Looked like it from the picture? Gracie and Hayes hanging with dad!

I got into Monterey late this afternoon, relaxed too long this morning and then took PCH up and traffic was not good. Is there any get togethers this weekend?

Hey Stretch. Tough to get together as there is no house to meet at. We should try to hook up at the track at least first, we might be able to pull something together, meet at a bar/restaurant somewhere duing the weekend.
