#24049 Busy week, 2014 Honda RCV ready for use, new Suzuki

Posted by tz250w on Today, 07:16 AM

Can't remember if I saw it here or at motomatters but somebody mentioned the differences between Stacey and Jorge's approach to FP. George runs endless race simulations (and hours / kilometers) on his bikes while Stoner did a few laps, made changes, did a few more, repeat. In total, most likely putting far fewer hours on his engines.

Perhaps Jorge needs to consider that, though I doubt he could. It's too much a part of his routine. Kinda like asking Rossi not to grab his ass as he leaves the pits.

Rossi needs to turn off his brain and put his elbow down. ;)

Yup, great to hear.

I didn't want to bring this up while he was still in critical but food for thought in the future. (And probably best not to show Lucy...)

Basically, punch-drunk syndrome. It's something to watch out for. I have a friend that's changed considerably over the years because of it. He was a crasher. A hard crasher that broke a lot of helmets...

I'm sure medicine today can detect signs of it and risk to patients that have suffered severe brain trauma. Especially if they're going to get bonked on the head again. I probably wouldn't have listened at that age either but there is more to life than motorcycle racing.

We're monitoring the thread Dan started in the MotoGP section.

And all have our fingers crossed.

I'm not a believer either, but whatever mojo I can spare has been shipped in spades. :(

Edit: And please keep us informed, there or here...

Well, at least he knew better to wag his finger than hold his shoulder.

Seriously though, I'll have to see more replays. It looked like he knew (and expected) Marc to be there, to me at least. If he saw they were going to go to the edge of the track (as I think they pretty much did) "forcing" a collision would only help his case if there was to be a ruling. Jorge has been very vocal about that in the past (the irony, after watching his 125 / early 250 years...). While I don't like to see "dangerous" moves. Stuff like that in a last slow corner is more like block passing than anything else.

However, your mileage may vary.

Jorge's pride was the only damage done there. Which is fine by me.

At his own fookin' corner and birthday weekend at that... Championship over, he's sure to come apart now! lol

;)

Conscious before sedation is good. Hopefully nothing too serious or lasting. Extra mojo sent.

Mojo sent. What is the extent of his injuries?

There seems to be a mole in Colin's team...

Yes, starting with MotoGP really would highlight what a snooze fest it has become. Everyone would be like "gee, they are loud and fast but..." then the passing and fairing bashing begins and the crowd is out of their seats.

In the past, they ran it last so people would stay around and buy more stuff. In the future, they may have to run it first so... people stay around and buy more stuff.

#16103 Anyone see Pasini's Save?

Posted by tz250w on 06 May 2012 - 12:48 AM

Ivan Silva's was better :)

Yes, but he mashed his nutz in the process. Not really a full save. ;)

Nobody cares about the quarter mile idiot, Bathurst is where it's at...so, quit fuckin' around, tell me, how many 500/1000's has a Charger won?

Doh... lots of people cared about the quarter mile back then. Turning wasn't really a muscle car's strong point...

They'll be racing full electric bike one day, that'll be great to hear at the track!

Hopefully not till I'm in my full electric wheelchair. Then at least I can pretend I'm still racing.  :)

I may be wrong, but I think Sugo is close to Sendai, which is also right about where the nuclear problem is... again, if I'm not mistaken.

You're right though--awesome track...

Sugo is in Miyagi (as is Sendai), not far from the airport you saw getting washed over by the tsunami but at least up in the hills. It's also much closer to Fukushima than Motegi.

Fuji, possible I suppose. Suzuka, I doubt it (though I wish they would). TI-Aida (or whatever it's called now) held a F-1 race back in '93 or so. But it's so far out in the sticks and away from the major population spots. Same with Autopolis (or current name, they've all gone bankrupt so many times I can't keep track). A former F-1 circuit with far too much money spent on facilities, now in complete disrepair but an interesting layout. Biggest problem there, built on top of a mountain and is subject to horrible weather. I had a race canceled there that I entered because we couldn't ride in the clouds...
